Winterization Tips to Save Energy and Money
This Fall weather is wonderful but we all know what is ahead. Get your house ready for the cold weather, you can start here!
- Change your furnace filters! Normally you’d want to do this once a month during the heating season. Dirty filters restrict airflow and increase energy demand. This is probably the easiest tip there is.
- Run fans in Reverse. Counterclockwise rotation produces cooling breezes, while switching to clockwise makes it warmer. Air pooled near the ceiling is circulated back into the living space—cutting your heating costs as much as 10 percent!
- Winterize your A/C & Water Lines. Make sure your hoses are drained and stored way, turn off water spigots, turn off your A/C shutoff valve if it has one.
